Carol A. Marinas, Ph.D.
Professor of Mathematics

Biography:   Dr. Marinas is a retired Professor of Mathematics.  She received her Bachelor’s Degree in Mathematics Education and Master’s Degree in Mathematics from Indiana University of Pennsylvania. She continued her education with an Educational Specialist in Computer Science Education from Barry University and a Ph.D. in Mathematics Education (Computer Education Concentration) from Florida State University. Her scholarly research interests involve using technological tools and mathematical manipulatives to teach mathematics, implementing the national and state standards, and developing math activities for families.

The purpose of this site to to share with researchers, educators, and parents that mathematics is needed in everyday life.  The relationship between our daily activities and mathematics is often ignored.  It is important to make these connections to help our children to grow and succeed.
